Platform Role in Shipping — Wholesale

Shipping Terms & Policy

Last updated: May 21, 2026

Wholesale Merchants maintain direct relationships with participating shipping carriers and logistics providers. The Platform provides operational, verification, tracking, logistics, communication, and workflow infrastructure designed to support modern shipping operations and shipment visibility. We do not act as a carrier, insurance company, or claims adjudicator.

Important — Read first

Order of Recovery for Loss, Damage, or Non-Delivery

Recovery is sequential. A claim under a later tier is not available until reasonable efforts under earlier tiers have been exhausted.

  1. Merchant’s own commercial insurance — cargo, inland marine, business-owners, or equivalent. The Platform strongly advises every Wholesale Merchant to maintain commercial insurance covering inventory in transit. This is the primary source of recovery.
  2. Carrier’s tariff liability — including any declared-value coverage the Wholesale Merchant purchased on the shipment, under the carrier’s own tariff.
  3. Third-party shipment-protection product — if purchased through the Platform at the time of label generation, under the protection partner’s own terms.
  4. Platform — only in the event of platform-caused gross negligence or willful misconduct, capped at the limitation stated below.

Selecting a third-party shipment-protection product does not replace, supplement, or relieve the Wholesale Merchant of the obligation to maintain its own commercial insurance.

Shipment Eligibility

Shipments must comply with the carrier’s tariff and the Platform’s Acceptable Use Policy. Restricted, prohibited, or hazardous commodities are excluded.

Packaging Requirements

Wholesale Merchants are responsible for packaging in accordance with carrier specifications. Inadequate packaging voids carrier liability and most third-party protection products.

Restricted Shipments

Firearms, ammunition, controlled substances, hazardous materials, perishables outside cold-chain programs, currency, and counterfeit goods are restricted.

Declared Value Limits

Declared value above $15,000 requires advance underwriting and may require additional documentation, authenticity verification, and signature confirmation.

Claims Procedures

Claims must be initiated within the carrier’s and protection partner’s reporting windows. The Platform provides an in-dashboard claims initiation workflow but does not adjudicate claims.

Time Limits for Reporting Issues

Loss claims: 30 days from estimated delivery. Damage claims: 7 days from delivery. Failure to report within these windows forfeits recovery rights under most carriers and protection products.

Carrier Responsibility Limitations

Each carrier’s tariff defines its own liability cap and exclusions. The Platform does not modify carrier tariffs.

Third-Party Carrier Delays

Transit times shown on rate cards are carrier estimates and are not guaranteed by the Platform.

Fraudulent Claims Policy

Fraudulent claims result in immediate account termination and may be referred to law enforcement and to the carriers’ fraud bureaus.

Signature Requirements

Shipments with declared value over $500 require signature confirmation; shipments over $15,000 require adult signature confirmation.

Inspection Rights

Carriers and protection partners reserve the right to inspect shipments and packaging in connection with any claim.

Address Accuracy Responsibility

The Wholesale Merchant is responsible for address accuracy. Address corrections, returns, and forwarding surcharges are rebilled to the merchant’s wallet.

International Shipment Limitations

International shipments require commercial invoices and may require customs forms generated through the Platform. The Wholesale Merchant remains the importer/exporter of record.

Dangerous Goods Exclusions

Lithium batteries and similar regulated commodities require special handling and are subject to carrier-specific surcharges and documentation.

Force Majeure Events

Carriers and the Platform are excused from performance in the event of force majeure, including natural disasters, labor actions, and regulatory shutdowns.

Label Misuse Restrictions

Labels generated through the Platform may not be transferred, resold outside an authorized wholesale arrangement, or used for commodities other than those declared at booking.

Merchant Documentation Requirements

The Wholesale Merchant agrees to retain proof of purchase, supplier invoices, and packaging documentation for all shipments for at least twelve (12) months.

Limitation of Liability

Aggregate Platform liability for any shipping-related claim is capped at the lesser of (i) the amount recoverable under the applicable protection product, or (ii) the fees paid by the Wholesale Merchant to the Platform in the three (3) months preceding the claim.

No Warranty on Carrier or Protection Outcomes

Carrier service levels and protection-product outcomes are governed by their respective providers and are not warranted by the Platform.

Sanctions, Export Controls & Lawful Use

The Wholesale Merchant is responsible for compliance with all applicable sanctions, export controls, and trade restrictions.

High-Value Shipment Policy

Shipments with declared value above $15,000 are subject to underwriter pre-approval and may require an override code issued by the insurance carrier portal.

Arbitration & Dispute Resolution

Shipping disputes are subject to the binding arbitration provision in the Wholesale Terms of Service.

Termination & Account Suspension

The Platform may suspend or terminate shipping privileges immediately for non-payment, fraud, or violation of these Shipping Terms.

Contact support@sellepack.com for help filing a claim or reviewing carrier responsibilities. Shipment protection options on the Platform are provided by third-party protection partners under their own coverage terms. The Platform is not an insurance company, carrier, or claims adjudicator.
